Sink fell out

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My quartz bathroom sink has 2 under mount bowls that were attached at their factory. One just fell out!

Not glued well apparently. Their only remedy is to send more epoxy to re-glue.

We are stuck with paying someone to come do it! They wont cover the labor.

My countertop had a chip on it. Need to get this resolved immediately.

We did not see this when we picked it up because it had a cardboard and plastic straps around it. We noticed it when we got home and removed the straps and cardboard still loaded on the truck.

This chip looks like it came from the manufacturer. Need someone to contact me.

Ordered quartz countertops from Menards in February 2022. They send template for you to match up to your countertops to confirm the measurements.

First three sets of templates we receive were not square. Where there schooled be a 90 angles they were like 86.

After finally getting templates that we can approve, we anxiously awaited our countertops. We were told it would be 3 to 4 weeks for fabrication. Six weeks later our countertops arrived.

When we were inspecting them at home, there were numerous things wrong, but the primary one was they cut the sink hole too big for our under mount sink.

Our local Menards ordered new pieces, at no charge. Fast forward 3 weeks, and the new set came in. They drop the new ones off and pick up the old. The sink hole was still too big.

The same thing happened on order number three

On the 4th try, the hole size was good, but they never polished the opening. It was left as an unfinished hole.

Today, (9/22/22) we received set number 5.

Sink is finally the right size, but there is an inside corner and a 3 piece of the side that newer got polished, and is crooked.

But the icing on the cake is that there was a gouge or chip in the center of our 6 peninsula piece that they tried to repair, and sent it like that was a good thing.

Not sure where to go from here.

I do want to mention that all of the people at my local Menards have been VERY helpful and accommodating during this entire process. This review is only about Midwest Manufacturing.

Deceptive Advertising- Ultradeck

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Ultradeck advertises that its product does not warp which was the sole basis of my buying their product over other leading competitors. I have purchased over $5000 in ultradeck product and we discovered several boards not cutting straight.

We called several contractors out thinking we were doing something wrong only to learn that the product is actually warped which is what was causing the issues with cuts. We had several contractors out who told us they see warping all the time with ultradeck and I needed to complain to get my money back due to the fact there wasnt anything I could do other than replace the entire deck. I reached out to ultradeck and was connected with Shane who has refused to provide me with his supervisors information and who is ignoring the fact the product is warped. I purchased a brand new board from Menards brought it home, laid it down on the cement and took pictures to show the warping on products directly from the Menards warehouse.

This board was not altered in anyway and was in my possession less than an hour and was clearly warped straight from the store in 70 degree weather. Furthermore, ultradeck shared with me the storage requirements which includes not stacking the products higher than 12 inches which they themselves do not do. I think the fact that they dont follow their storage guidelines is contributing to the warping of the product. However, regardless of that fact, they advertise their product does not warp when it most certainly does even when laying on concrete in 70 degree weather.

This company is an absolute fraud! They dont stand behind their guarantee and their product does not stand up to its advertising.

This company should be shut down for the deceptive advertising alone let alone their HORRIBLE customer service. Avoid them like the plague!

I purchased a patio door on 08/02/2019 and since installation it has leaked around the fixed door side and water accumulates under the door threshold area and leaks into the inside room. the door weather stripping has many cracks in it and I believe that is where the water is coming from into the room.

also I have installed (3) door lock sets as they freeze up in the cold weather and the key won't open the frozen lock set. I believe that the area around the door is void of factory foam insulation.

Recommendation for product use improvement

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I called Midwest Manufacturing to suggest that if the hollow panel door I purchased at Menard's yesterday would have indicated where to cut down the length I would have saved me an hour's work. I said if the manufacturer put a four-inch board across the top and indicated where to cut if needed then it would do the job.

The woman explained one- inch edges are an industry standard for their vendors and any cutting of the door results in voiding the warranty. I said that I expect most doors that are replaced will need cutting down (my house was built in 1965).

She then said when people call us about the issue we advise them to cut off an edge, cut out the cardboard, and then reinsert the cut-off part.

I said then they should put that information on the door so people will not have to call the store. I added that as a customer I would purchase a door that I had only needed to cut instead of partially rebuild.

It appears that vendors could solve this problem at their end.

Preferred solution: My solution is to ask the vendors or their standards organ to add a 4" board along the top of the hollow door or at least offer instructions when needed to cut to fit

User's recommendation: Be aware of panel door issues.

Had a deck built and cannot use it due to wood

I had a deck built onto my home. I had a contractor build the deck and he purchased the decking from Menard's.

I was given instruction a waiting and letting it "season" before staining. I waited past the allotted time and began to stain. I started with the hand rails and the looked great. I then started on the floor part of the deck and was about 3/4 of the way done when I noticed brown sticky stuff all over what I had stained on the floor.

I called Manard's and the seemed perplexed so they sent out a rep to have a look. They said that it was not their problem it was the manufactures problem. Midwest Manufacturing was who I neeeded to contact. They said that it was sap and that it was a "natural" occurance.

We rented a sander sanded it all back off, bought a sealer, a different stain(as we were told our stain was too dark?), power washed and tried again..... same thing.

Again Midwest Manufacturing said soory, not there problem. Almost 2 years with a deck I cannot even walk on!

Typical Menards/Midwest response. Menards blames the manufacturer, the manufacturer blames Menards. Keep in mind that Menards and Midwest Manufacturing are owned by the same person.
